The Tokyo Station Hotel
The Tokyo Station Hotel stands apart from just about anywhere else you could stay in Tokyo. The historic hotel first opened in 1915 and is a part of Tokyo Station, putting you at the center of the city.
The hotel was listed in Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice of Top 10 Hotels in Japan in 2025 and is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
Why We Like The Tokyo Station Hotel
The Tokyo Station Hotel is in a prime location. Access to JR lines, Tokyo Metro, the Imperial Palace Gardens, and Ginza are all within easy reach. The Marunouchi district is a great place for shopping, and there are lots of cafes and restaurants.
The hotel blends European decor with great Japanese hospitality, and the amenities are superb.

The Dome Side Comfort Twin Room
We stayed in the Dome Side Comfort Twin. One thing that struck us immediately was the high ceilings, which are extremely rare for hotels in Tokyo.
The room was a good size with a spacious layout. It was quiet, even with the station right below us, clean, and the bed was really comfortable.

The hotel has a fitness center and spa in the basement.
It also has designated smoking rooms. All of the South Wing guest rooms are smoking rooms, and all of the other rooms are non-smoking. Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 12:00 PM.

There are 10 restaurants, bars, and cafes on-site at the hotel. Breakfast is served in the Atrium Lounge, which has a really nice selection of Japanese and Western dishes.

Transportation to the Hotel
From Narita Airport
From Narita Airport, the best way to get to the hotel is the Narita Express. It’s a direct train straight from the airport to Tokyo Station and takes about an hour. Once you get off the train, just follow the signs to the Marunouchi South Exit.
From Haneda Airport
From Haneda Airport, the Limousine Bus takes about an hour to reach Tokyo Station. However, the bus drops you off on the other side of the station, so you need to take the central passageway to the Marunouchi North Exit, then walk to the South Exit.
Another option is the train. You can take the Tokyo Monorail to Hamamatsucho Station, and then transfer to the JR Yamanote Line to go to Tokyo Station.
The easiest option from Haneda Airport is a taxi. It’ll run somewhere between 8,000 and 10,000 yen, but it will take you directly to the hotel.
