With Japan and More, you deal directly with the owners, Becki and Shawn, from the time you register for your tour until the day you depart Japan, so you don’t have to worry about getting lost in the world’s busiest train stations, navigating the streets of Japan, or figuring out how to read a Japanese menu.
Becki and Shawn are there to help anytime you need it. They are Americans who know Japan, understand Japanese culture, and speak the language. They take care of every detail from knowing the best hotels, the quickest and easiest way to get around, and where to go off the beaten path.

Hi, we’re Becki and Shawn, Japan Travel Specialists with over 20 years of experience living, working, and traveling in Japan. We know where to go, what to see, and how to get there.
Our extensive first-hand knowledge offers you a unique, inside look into everyday life, so you can gain a deeper understanding of the country and its people. You will also learn societal norms and Japanese etiquette to ensure you only have positive experiences.
WHY TRAVEL WITH JAPAN AND MORE?
VERY SMALL GROUPS
On these tours, you will explore Japan in a small group of 8 people or less – half the size of most other small group tours! This allows you to have more flexibility in the day-to-day schedule and more personalized attention beyond what any other tour can offer.
Instead of seeing Japan through a tour bus window, you will experience walking through busy shopping streets, taking trains and subways, and enjoying family-run restaurants that often only have a few seats available.
FLEXIBLE DAILY SCHEDULE
These tours are not about rushing through sites and checking each one off a list. You can take your time to appreciate the beauty of the Zen gardens, enjoy a green tea ice cream, chat with enthusiastic school kids, or stop for a matcha tea in a centuries’ old teahouse. This is your adventure!
In addition, if you’re tired, need some alone time, or just want to relax in one of the state-of-the-art hotels, you are always free to explore on your own.
RIDE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
On these tours, you will take public transportation in order to see the real Japan. School kids to top executives ride the trains, subways, and buses making Tokyo’s stations the busiest in the world! The trains are safe, unbelievably clean, and the best way to interact with the people and experience the culture.
Becki and Shawn do the research and take care of all the details, so you don’t have to figure out train schedules, stand in line for seat reservations, or worry about getting on the wrong train.
DINE AT LOCAL RESTAURANTS
These tours take you to small, family-run restaurants that you probably wouldn’t find in a guidebook. Unlike larger groups, you won’t be eating all your dinners at a hotel buffet. You will have the opportunity to try a variety of restaurants including local delicacies and Japanese kaiseki.
Becki and Shawn know where to eat, what to order, and how to interact with the staff so you can have a truly authentic dining experience.
PERSONAL SUPPORT
There is ongoing personal email support from the time you register for your tour until the day Becki and Shawn meet you at Narita Airport in Japan.
Before the trip, you are invited to have a free personal consultation with Becki and Shawn. They will answer all of your questions about going to Japan and offer advice to make sure you are equipped with everything you need to know before you go.
