How the Escorted Tours Work

  • Choose Your Tour

    Please choose one of our fully-escorted small group tours. If you would like more information about a tour, please send us a message or give us a call at 1-800-572-8123.

  • Deposit

    A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 USD per person for 8-day group tours, $1,250 USD per person for 10-day group tours, $1,500 USD per person for 12-day group tours, $1,875 USD per person for 15-day group tours, and 25% of the tour price for private tours is required at the time of booking.

    We accept payment by credit card. Deposits are applied to final payment of the tour price.

  • Confirmation

    Once we have received your deposit and approved your registration, we will send you a confirmation email. At this point, you may make arrangements for your flight to Japan.

  • Final Payment

    The final payment is due 90 days before the start of the tour (private tour final payment is due 120 days before the start of the tour). If you like, we can set up a payment plan with final balance due 90 days before the start of the tour.

  • Pre-departure Consultation

    We offer ongoing advice for your upcoming trip to Japan regarding flights, packing, and any questions you may have. You will also receive a personal consultation and helpful tips several weeks before departure.

  • Enjoy Your Once-in-a-lifetime Trip to Japan

    Becki or Shawn will meet you at the airport and personally escort you around Japan. They will show you the very best of Japan and offer extensive first-hand knowledge of the country and its culture.

    It will be a truly memorable experience!

Things to Consider

Here are a few things to consider before registering for one of our tours.

Passport

You must have a valid passport to enter Japan. Make sure your passport has more than six months left before expiration.

Visa

American citizens do not need a travel visa. If you are a citizen of another country, please check with the Embassy of Japan to find out the entry requirements for non-US citizens.

Flights

This tour is land only. Airfare to and from Japan is not included. You are responsible for booking your flight to Japan and arriving at Narita Airport on the first day of the tour.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is not included. We strongly recommend you purchase travel insurance before the trip.

Health

You will be doing a lot of walking and standing on this tour. You must be able to easily walk 5 to 6 miles at a time and climb up and down stairs.

Luggage

You must be able to carry your luggage up and down stairs. There is no luggage forwarding service on this tour. We recommend packing as light as possible.

Dietary Restrictions

It may be difficult to find meals that meet specific dietary needs. Please let us know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions.

Tattoos

Most hot springs will not allow entry to anyone who has a tattoo. If you have a small tattoo, you might be able to cover it with a waterproof bandage. Otherwise, we can try to arrange a private bath, based on availability and at an additional cost.
