Tour registration signifies your agreement to these Terms and Conditions.
COVID-19 Temporary Booking Policy
We are offering a temporary booking policy to give you peace of mind when booking a tour with us. If your tour cannot run, then you will have the option to transfer your travel dates (without a fee) or receive a 100% refund of all monies you have paid to us. See Cancellation by Us below.
New Reduced Deposit for 2022 Bookings
While Japan’s borders are closed to international tourists, the deposit for all tours will be $250 USD per person. When Japan announces the reopening of its borders, then the remainder of the deposit will be due.
This offer is good for new bookings starting January 1, 2022. This offer is not available for transferred bookings with deposits made prior to January 1, 2022.
The $250 USD deposit is non-refundable, but may be transferable for a fee of $100 USD per person up to five months (150 days) before the tour start date. At 149 days before the start of the tour, the deposit is no longer transferable.
All tour participants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before the start of the tour. This policy will be in place for all 2022 and 2023 tours, or until further notice.
Included in Tours
All accommodations, breakfast each morning, entrance fees, land transportation, taxes, gratuities, and full-time services of Becki or Shawn throughout the tour.
Not Included in Tours
Airfare to and from Japan, travel insurance, meals other than those specified in the itinerary, sightseeing not included in the itinerary, beverages, baggage handling, personal expenses such as laundry, communication charges, and Wi-Fi rental, and any expenses outside the dates of the tour.
All prices are per person based on two people sharing a room. Prices are subject to change due to fluctuations in the exchange rate. The current pricing is based on an exchange rate between 100 and 120 yen per dollar.
A single supplement fee is added for solo travelers. Please note that single rooms in Japan are smaller than those in other countries.
Japan and More reserves the right to modify itineraries, including arranged sightseeing, and substitute accommodations, at any time. Every effort will be made to operate itineraries as planned, but alterations may occur after the final itinerary has been issued.
Japan and More chooses hotels based on a combination of location, service, atmosphere, and price. All rooms have 2 single beds unless otherwise requested. Japan and More cannot guarantee the availability and booking of requests other than 2 single beds.
Transport on Tour
Land transportation is via Japan’s first-rate system of trains, subways and city buses.
Taxis are not included, nor are any transportation expenses outside the dates of the tour, including but not limited to airport transfers.
Japan Rail Pass
Participants must be eligible to use a Japan Rail Pass in order to qualify for the listed tour prices. Only foreign tourists entering Japan under the status of temporary visitor (tourist visa) can use a Japan Rail Pass.
Participants receive a Rail Pass on the first day of the tour and are responsible for maintaining possession of it for the duration of the tour. Japan and More is not responsible for travel expenses incurred due to the loss of a Rail Pass.
Japan and More does not provide luggage transfers between hotels unless otherwise specified in the itinerary.
Luggage forwarding service is available via a third party for 1,800-2,400 yen per bag, depending on the size of the bag. Luggage typically arrives in 1-2 days, so participants must pack an overnight bag. Japan and More assumes no liability for lost or damaged baggage.
This tour is land only. Airfare to and from Japan is not included. Participants are responsible for booking flights to Japan and arriving at Narita Airport on the first day of the tour. Only book flights after receiving a tour confirmation.
Note: If you are leaving from America, you must depart one day earlier in order to arrive on time.
Special Travel Arrangements
Participants may extend their stay in the hotel after the tour, depending upon availability and for an additional fee. Only post tour extensions are offered. There are no pre-tour extensions.
Should you decide not to participate in certain parts of the tour, no refunds will be made for those unused parts of the tour.
A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of $1,000 USD per person for 8-day group tours, $1,250 USD per person for 10-day group tours, $1,500 USD per person for 12-day group tours, $1,875 USD per person for 15-day group tours, and 25% of the tour price for private tours is required at the time of booking.
All payments may be made by credit card. Deposits are applied to final payment of the tour price.
Final payment is due no later than 90 days before the start of the tour for group tours and 120 days for private tours. Reservations made within 90 days before the start of the tour for group tours or 120 days for private tours require full payment at the time of booking. If full payment is not received by the due date, your place cannot be guaranteed on the tour.
Cancellation – Group Tours
If you cancel more than 90 days before the start of the tour, you will be refunded 100% of the tour price minus the deposit. If you cancel between 61 to 90 days before the start of the tour, you will be refunded 60% of the tour price. If you cancel between 31 to 60 days before the start of the tour, you will be refunded 50% of the tour price. There are no refunds for cancellations within 30 days before the start of the tour.
Cancellation – Private Tours
If you cancel more than 120 days before the start of the tour, you will be refunded 100% of the tour price minus the deposit. If you cancel between 91 to 120 days before the start of the tour, you will be refunded 60% of the tour price. If you cancel between 61 to 90 days before the start of the tour, you will be refunded 50% of the tour price. There are no refunds for cancellations within 60 days before the start of the tour.
Any modification to the number of people traveling will require a revised tour price.
Cancellation by Us
Japan and More reserves the right to cancel any tour due to low enrollment, a U.S. Department of State Travel Warning, or an entry ban restricting American tourists from entering Japan. In the event your tour is cancelled, you will receive a full refund of all monies you have paid to us.
If the minimum number of bookings has not been received (not applicable to Private Tours), we will notify you of the cancellation no less than 90 days before departure.
If Japan restricts entry to American tourists or there is a Level 3 or higher U.S. Department of State Travel Warning issued, or in effect, then tours starting within 14 days will be cancelled.
Travel insurance is not included in the price of the tour. You are recommended to take out appropriate travel insurance for your trip, especially if you are concerned about the possibility of needing to cancel.
At a minimum, your travel insurance should cover medical expenses (including medical repatriation) and baggage.
To enjoy the travel experience, participants should be in good physical health. Sightseeing in Japan often involves a lot of walking, going up and down stairs, and standing. Participants must be able to easily walk 5 to 7 miles each day at a reasonable pace (most tours average about 10,000 to 15,000 steps or more per day) and climb up and down multiple flights of stairs.
In addition, you must be able to carry your luggage up and down stairs and lift it for overhead storage on trains.
Because of the nature of our tours, we reserve the right to restrict the age of some tours to a maximum of 70 years old at the time of the trip.
If we find that you have misrepresented your physical health, walking ability, or age, we reserve the right to reject you from the tour without any refund of payments.
For the benefit of everyone on our tours, Japan and More reserves the right to accept or reject any person as a tour participant. Japan and More also reserves the right to remove any participant from the tour whose conduct is deemed incompatible with the interests of the other participants.
All tours are designed for adults. Regardless of age, children must pay full price unless otherwise noted.
A parent or guardian must accompany travelers under 20 years old.
Photography and Video
Participants may be photographed or recorded for promotional purposes. This content may be used in marketing publications and posted on websites without compensation to the participant. Participants who prefer that their name, voice and/or image not be used must notify us in writing prior to the beginning of the tour.
In order to enter Japan, you must have a passport that will remain valid for the entire duration of your stay, a blank page in your passport for the entry stamp, and an airline ticket leaving Japan. American citizens do not need a travel visa. If you are a citizen of another country, please check with the Japan Embassy to find out the entry requirements for non-US citizens.
You must enter on a tourist visa to qualify for the advertised prices. Participants on any other visa are welcome to join the tour at an additional cost.
Sunny Mangos, Inc. (dba “Japan and More”), acts only as agent for the various independent suppliers and contractors providing transportation, hotel accommodations, restaurants, and other services connected with this tour. Such travel and services are subject to the terms and conditions under which such accommodations, services, and transportation are offered or provided, and Sunny Mangos, Inc. accept no liability therefore.
Sunny Mangos, Inc., assumes no liability for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, or other irregularity which may be caused by the defect of any aircraft or vehicle or the negligence or default of any company or person engaged in carrying out or performing any of the services involved.
Additionally, responsibility is not accepted for losses, injury, damages, or expenses of any kind due to, but not limited to, sickness, weather, strikes, local laws, hostilities, wars, terrorist activity, riots, civil strife, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire, flood, epidemic, closure of airports or airspace and all similar events outside of our control. All services and accommodations are subject to the laws of the country in which they are provided.
Sunny Mangos, Inc. reserves the right to make changes in the published itinerary whenever, in their sole judgment, conditions warrant, or if they deem it necessary for the comfort, convenience or safety of the tour participants. They reserve the right to withdraw this tour without penalty. The right is also reserved to decline to accept or retain any person as a member of the tour, or to substitute another qualified leader or special guest. Baggage and personal effects are the sole responsibility of the owners at all times.
The price of the program is given in good faith based on current tariffs and rates, and is subject to change. Any tariff, exchange rate, or fuel increases will be passed onto participants. As part of the consideration and right to participate in this tour, each participant acknowledges that he/she has carefully read this document in its entirety and fully understands that this is a waiver and release of liability.

Sunny Mangos, Inc. is a registered Seller of Travel in California. Registration as a seller of travel does not constitute approval by the State of California. Sunny Mangos, Inc. is not a participant in the California Travel Consumer Restitution Fund. California law requires certain sellers of travel to have a trust account or bond. Sunny Mangos, Inc. has a trust account.
